Cathy is a remarkable woman who has survived a bus accident that took both her legs.
She has remained incredibly positive and always kept her faith in Christ. Cathy has opened her heart to a lot of people who she wanted to give the benefit of Jesus’s love to. However, she has been abused and taken advantage of. I have never met a person like her before. She has every reason to be mad at God and turn her shoulder away from humanity, but she has always kept the Spirit. She is truly inspirational.
Cathy lost her legs while walking through a crosswalk, a city bus ran her over. I feel that she is lucky to be alive. The settlement was horrible, there is a law in place that states you can only sue for 300,000 for a government car accident. She had a LIFE ALTERING accident. I don't think you can put a price on that. She won her lawsuit, but her medical bills were excessive, and the attorney fees were as well. After being left disabled and alone, she has been struggling to survive on what was remaining after all the bills were paid.
While she was trying to make her home handicap accessible, she was scammed by contractors who just walked off the job, people in her life that she has asked to assist her with normal everyday errands have taken her money and even used her debit card to pay their own bills without her consent.
To be hit by a bus, wake up in the hospital, and your legs have been amputated, have a limited amount that you can request in compensation, and there really is no dollar value that I feel you can place on losing your legs. She has lost her independence and could lose her home.
She needs financial assistance. If you could please send anything to assist her. She is trying to seek legal action if possible to recoup some of her stolen funds, but we all know sometimes the court system can be slow.
Please if you can help, anything is appreciated. She is at the point of possibly losing her home. Also if you are able to assist with finishing any work inside the home to complete making it handicap accessible for her. That would also be a blessing.
