747 pilots support for our Anchorage friends

Donation protected
On 30-Nov a 7.0 earthquake struck Anchorage, Alaska
This resulted in serious damage to homes, property and infrastructure.
29 Cathay crew were in ANC at the time with 4 more aircraft inbound.
One aircraft landed less than 5mins after the earthquake
The crew hotel was damaged and unusable for 7hrs in sub-zero conditions.
Despite their own personal circumstances the CX ANC CGO team rallied together to support not only our crew but the CX CGO operation.
With fuel and gas leaks at the airport, they set up a temporary office in the back of a truck!
Kevin personally took charge on the ground and led his Team safely as aftershocks continued to rattle South Central Alaska.
The whole Team, selflessly, put others before themselves to ensure our crew were safe & reaccomodated while the city & airport was plagued with power outages, gas leaks, no heating and a myriad of other technical issues.
They did all this knowing full well that their own homes had suffered damage.
Nothing speaks more highly of both the individuals and Kevin’s leadership and I sincerely hope we can acknowledge their commitment and bravery in the befitting manner they absolutely deserve.

We would also like to share with the staff at the Sheraton Anchorage who are often our second family.  They also had to put aside their homes and families and host our crew as best as possible.
