Hi, my name is Dr Ihator Brown, and I am one of the Directors of Miss Vee Personal Care, based in Jamaica and the UK, with some ties to St. Elizabeth. We aim to raise funds for Maggotty and the surrounding areas in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa has wreaked havoc across St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, resulting in extensive damage to both infrastructure and agriculture. The electrical grid has suffered significant damage, leaving many residents without power. Roads have been blocked by fallen trees and debris, hampering rescue and recovery efforts. Agricultural lands have also been severely affected, threatening food security for the coming months.

Our Focus Area: For our relief efforts in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, we are focusing on the following areas: Maggotty, Thornton, Siloah, Williamsfield, Balaclava, Auchtembeddie, Troy, Comfort Hall, Appleton, Elderslie, and Aberdeen. These communities are currently without electricity and clean water. Access to food is critical, and we are working to establish food banks to provide essential supplies to families in these areas.

To support the community in returning to normality, we can organise community clean-up efforts to remove debris and restore public spaces. Collaborate with local organisations to provide mental health support for those affected by the disaster. Establish mobile clinics to address health concerns arising from the hurricane's aftermath.
