The Catalyst Christian Learning Center is a Released-time program that teaches public high school students Biblically based courses during the school day, and students received elective credit at the high school for our courses. We consider this ministry as the arm of local churches reaching into the community to reach youth for Christ and to make disciples.
The CCLC was established in 2004, so this is our tenth year teaching high school students. We currently offer six different courses: Old Testament and Its Influence, New Testament and Its Influence, Boundaries, Dating and Marriage, World Religions, and Character and Core Values. Last year we taught 144 high school students. Students receive elective credit at the high school for our courses.
In order to legally teach the Bible to public school students, Catalyst cannot receive any government funding. It costs $60 a month ($720 a year) to provide these biblically-based courses for White County High School students. We are looking for partners to Adopt-a-Student for one year. You can do this as a family, as a small group, or as a Sunday School class. We ask you to prayerfully consider sponsoring a student for the 2014-2015 school year. THe CCLC is a 501(c)3 organization and all gifts are tax deductible. Our goal is to sponsor 5 students through www.gofundme.com
