Dear Furriends,
We are reaching out to our wonderful coMEWnity for support. As you probably know, Cat Tales Cat Cafe has had to temporarily close its doors due to COVID-19. This is an incredibly challenging and difficult time for all, and we humbly ask for your help.
Cat Tales Cat Café opened on Valentine's Day, 2019 and is usually home to 12 adoptable shelter cats. Before closing mid-March due to the virus, we had adopted out 117 cats to loving homes.
When we dreamed of opening a cat café, we never could have fathomed something like this happening one year into our business. We were just hitting our stride- recovering from start-up costs and becoming a known destination for animal lovers. We had gathered an exciting momentum that has come to an unfortunate grinding halt.
Before setting up this fundraiser, we researched numerous avenues to get the help we need via loans, grants, etc. We have been in contact with our landlord who, unfortunately, is not in a position to defer our rent. It is becoming very clear that any funds that MIGHT be available to us through government programs are still a VERY long way away. All these factors combined have put us in a tough spot. That is why we are asking you; our beloved customers, supporters, and friends, to help us get over the hump until some of this relief arrives.
Your contribution will allow us to pay rent and expenses, which don't stop just because we do. Additionally, your support will allow us to help our beloved and dedicated staff. We want to take care of them as wonderfully as they take care of the kitties. We can't imagine doing this without them.
With your help, we will be in a position to open as soon as allowable. We are committed to getting back to doing what we love! Cat Tales is more than cats and coffee- it is THERAPY. It is GATHERING. It is DISCONNECTING WHILE CONNECTING. It is FUN! It's LOVE and.... It is coMEWnity.
