Cat shelter veterinary expenses

We run a sanctuary for stray, abandoned and homeless cats.  The sanctuary began before 2007 when its founder, Peggy Janneck, began sheltering stray and rescued cats in her barn in Poplarville, MS.   In 2007, Peggy moved to her current home near Bush, LA, which has enough land to build a permanent, protected sanctuary.

The sanctuary is located on half an acre of land on Ms. Janneck’s property.   It has three buildings and currently houses 61 cats.  The perimeter is enclosed by a high fence to keep the cats in and predators out.  There are trees and bushes within the enclosure, for exercise and recreation.

We run a no-kill shelter.  Once a cat enters the sanctuary, it has a home for life.  No cat is ever put down or given away to make room for another animal.

We have regular veterinary expenses.    We have applied for but have not secured funding from traditional animal foundations, so Ms. Janneck has been paying the bills from her own pocket.    We need help paying for these expenses.    Since 2017, vet bills have come to $5,035.34.

We are an IRS qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.    Our story and photos of the grounds are on our website:  http://www.meowmissioninc.org
