The Cat Madden Band are asking for financial support towards their first EP.
A message from Cat:
It’s a pretty dire time for performing artists... but you know that.
(How musicians make money^^^)
I’m not the biggest fan of asking for help. Luckily I’ve been convinced by our fans, loved ones and fellow music types that we absolutely deserve to reach out for support. I mean I have been writing songs and performing now for 14 years I suppose... woah.
Music industry folks tell me that the Cat Madden Band need fresh recordings to get to the next level. It’s pretty tough to get taken seriously as a musician when you have no tracks to show. The caliber of music out there is insanely good at the minute and right now you can hardly compare without equally professional sounding music on your profiles.
... but holy cow is it expensive. (Also bye bye CERB)
(2014 prices ^^^ double it)
Recording music well is incredibly pricey so we’re not asking you to fund an album (which can be anywhere from $10,000 - $30,000 depending on how you do it).
Instead we are looking to raise money for a grant writer.
A grant writer helps artists apply for grants from places such as Factor and CreativeBC who have lots of yummy money’s to give to artists they deem worthy. Basically grant-writers with high success rates significantly improve your chances of attaining bigger grants.
Why we’re asking for help:
- No live shows means little to no income from music.
- I believe this EP will make a significant impact on our musical careers and push us forward as a band dramatically.
- I believe you love our music and want to be able to turn us on in the car or at the lake and jam out with us.
- I know we work very very hard and the more support we receive the more we will give back.
So... if you have a couple bucks and you love our music, supporting local talent and genuine artists then please help us! All our contributors will be named on the cover of our EP :)
