12/7 UPDATE:

Layla’s Cochlear Implants were paid for!  Woo Hoo!  Therefore,  I have changed the original amount requested of $10,000. To $1,000.  Which, will be split between a Shoprite gift card and an O & R bill to keep the lights on.  Shout out to Leigh Taylor who is also collecting tangible items for the family.

I would like to personally thank EACH And EVERYone of you for your love to this family in this time of need.  Your donations are greatly appreciated no matter how small!

In the interest of transparency,  The fact that the siblings are in 2 different house holds is a very painful, private topic involving the courts.  However, Grandma Joan will have all 6 kids for Christmas so the original intent of the fundraiser - to lift all the children up for Christmas will be possible as they will all be together that day.

If you still would like to donate tangible goods, Please contact Leigh Taylor on Facebook to make arrangements.

Original post:

Some of you may recall this family from the tragic story of the February 2019  incident at the 7-11 in Garnerville, NY.  Unfortunately,  Melissa DeLoach (the mother) and her unborn child were killed in the parking lot.  She leaves behind 6 children all under the age of 11.   Layla, age 11  is a Cochlear Implant  recipient hoping to upgrade her implants sometime in the near future.  This can cost upwards of 11 thousand dollars.  Mason, age 7 is on the autistic spectrum and also has dyslexia.   Benjamin, age 6 is a fantastic artist.  Sean age 3.  Heaven, age 2. Unique is 18 months.

All of the children are suffering from some form of PTSD from the incident as they not only witnessed their mother being  struck and killed,  but have also suffered broken limbs, a broken Cochlear Implant and a multitude of abrasions.

While still grieving the loss of their daughter,  the elderly grandparents have stepped up and taken custody of the three oldest children. As you can imagine the difficulties raising children with these disabilities are tremendous especially given the fact that the medical bills keep piling up.
Never mind Grandma Joan’s bad knee’s and Grandpa Ricky in declining health, they can use every little bit of positivity our community can give to help them out.

The family needs a happy memory for the holidays this year.    I’m raising funds to help them out with Christmas and life expenses for the kids and keeping them all fed, safe and happy.  This family has been through so much in the last year they just need some positive, good things to come their way.

If there is something tangible you would like to donate please feel free to email [email redacted].
