Cassingham Playground Project

It's crunch time! In order to install the new playground for the 2017-2018 school year we must raise an additional $30,000 by this Wednesday, June 14th!
Dearest Bexley Friends, Neighbors, and Families:
The Cassingham Elementary School Playground was last renovated in 1995. Today, components of the playground are beginning to fail, and the hardware is entering a life stage wherein a revitalized, new playground needs to happen.
During the last ten months the steering committee and design team have engaged Bexley families as well as Cassingham Elementary students to determine exactly what the community wants to see reflected in their new playground. Together all have worked tirelessly to re-imagine the playground and to create an environment that supports healthy play for children with varied needs and abilities. Our efforts, images, renderings, etc. can be viewed here on our website.
In early 2017 Landscape Structures (playlsi.com) was selected as our final vendor and designs were refined. The proposed design includes climbing structures, slides and additional swings as well as state of the art modern equipment like the global motion or netplex . The committee’s working theme, “Treetops of Bexley,” is expressed in playground elements that have a natural appearance as well as the incorporation of existing trees and the planting of new ones.
This is an expensive endeavor. While our school board is committed to funding the costly playground surface that will keep our children safe and make our playground ADA compliant, the responsibility for funding the playground equipment falls on the community, as was the experience for the other two Bexley elementary schools.
The playground equipment, install, and materials will cost almost $300,000, hence our persistent effort to fundraise throughout the past year.
Many, many of you have supported our year long efforts thus far: your participation in our planned events, personally committed time, creative suggestions, generous donations, encouragement and support.....the list goes on and on. THANK YOU!!!
Here we now are, at the 11th hour and we NEED YOUR HELP!
We have until next Wednesday, May 31st to close our final $100,000 gap. Closing this gap will allow us to place our order for this wonderful new playground by mid June and culminate with a "community build" in late summer 2017!
