The backstory:
Cassie has stage 3 breast cancer. She found the lump in October 2017.
- October: diagnosis of invasive lobular breast cancer
- November: waiting...worrying...planning
- December: surgery...healing...more worrying.
The treatment plan:
Chemo, radiation, anti-estrogen, reconstruction, ovary removal. This will all take place over the next 12 months.
The need for funds is immediate:
Regular bills + no paycheck + growing medical bills = lack of sleep and lack of ability to focus on healing. When you cannot sleep because you are worried about money, the body cannot properly heal. Let's help Cassie get some rest.
Cassie has been plagued by migraines over the past several years, requiring regular use of sick leave and PTO, resulting in only a few remaining days to take. Cassie will have multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, requiring her to take unpaid sick leave for weeks at a time.
