Cassidy was admitted January 18, 2018 into WK North with acute respitory failure (both lungs collapsed), sepsis (blood infection), osteomyelitis (bone infection). On the 26th a trachea was installed as tubes become an infection hazard. Currently she is on a ventilator after having been bronched which helped inflate the left lung.
Cassidy’s physicians are hoping to transfer her to long term acute care this week. They are expecting a minimum of 3 to 4 months of LTAC and then inpatient rehabilitation to help with deterioration she has experienced this past year.
Cassidy is a quadriplegic from an accident in 2007. She has not let her disability stop her from achieving her goals. She is a graduate of North Western State University. She co-owns and operates with family Brookelynn Bichons and she is business administrator of Hobo’s Hut; a snow cone business in memory of her sister Kaitlin.
Medical bills and and expenses are a constant with Cassidy’s disability. Unforeseen illness causes serious financial struggles. Prayers are the families first request and any amount given to help with Cassidy’s medical expenses are greatly appreciated by Cassidy and her family.
