Why do bad things happen to good people? This is a timelessly debated question and one you can't help but ask when faced with heart ache. While the answer to this question is different for everyone one thing is always clear.  For those of us of faith we rely on our faith but I think  we all can agree that we also lean on our friends and family for support.

It is with this in mind that I have created this appeal on my sister Cassandra's behalf.  My sister was admited for surgery to remove a 6 inch growth from her abdomen at the beginging of August 2017. It was discovered shortly after that she has Stage 3 cancer: a rare germ cell cancer of the ovary. The techincal term for her cancer is "Yolk Sac Tumor."

Her prognosis looks good as the doctor has given her a high survival rate which is amazing news.  She has the courage and determination to get through this although it will be hard, long road.  She will be undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy that will hopefully rid her body of the cancer. She will have to make many trips back and forth to the hospital to continue her treatment over the next several months.

So why have I started this appeal? Well, just like everyone my sister has bills and those bills are growing. She works two jobs: as a massage therapist and as a comissary cashier.  Due to her recent surgery, required recovery time after surgery and the need to begin chemo immediately she has been unable to work. I know that being able to afford her utilities, rent, food and the medical bills are a huge stress to her.  I am hoping to reduce this stress a little by asking for your help.  If you are able to donate in any way we greatly appreciate you helping her. If you are unable to donate monetarily and you are a person of faith please keep her in your prayers. We greatly appreicate those as well.
