Cassandra's Cancer Support

Donation protected
On January 21, 2018, one of my dearest friends called to say she was headed to the ER for some breathing issues, but she was sure it was nothing.  The next day, her daughter and family received the news it was Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and it was 100% incurable.   Though incurable, she is undergoing chemo in hopes of extending her life not only for herself and her family, but most of all for her 17 year old daughter Zoe.

Since this time, Cassandra's sisters have put their lives on hold to devoted their lives to making sure that she and her daughter have the care they need.  Though daily life for Cassandra and her daughter has been altered in ways many of us will never understand, her sisters are there weeks at a time providing love, support and care.
Prior to this diagnoses, Cassandra has battled many health issues in her life.  She has fought Lupus for 27 years, Pulmonary hypertension for 8 years and Chronic anemia for 4years.  All the while she taught business at Travelers Rest High School for 11 years and adjunct professor at Greenville Tech.,  headed the TRHS Beta Club, active at her church, Allen Temple AME, participated in many functions and youth programs,  and has been and always will be a die hard Steelers fan.

As a single mom she has reared a beautiful, intelligent, caring daughter Zoe.  At the time of the diagnoses, Cassandra was given 8 to 10 months to live and Zoe was a junior in high school.  Realizing that in order for Cassandra to be able to see her daughter graduate from high school, adjustments were made so that Zoe could graduate with the class of 2018 and have her mom there to be a part of this important milestone in Zoe's life.

Since her diagnoses, Cassandra has not been able to return to work and she no longer receive a salary.  With the mounting medical expenses added onto prior medical expenses and the cost of maintaining her home and providing for her daughter, her financial situation is dire.  Her concern for her financial situation added to her devastating health issues only compounds her health.

Cassandra has touched and impacted many lives, and all though those of us who know and love her cannot change the outcome of her diagnoses, we can help to alleviate the stress of her financial situation.
