My Eye Surgery Fund

About 8 months ago, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus after unknowingly battling the silent disease for 3 years. I had many different symptoms over the years at separate times, making it difficult to diagnose. Systemic Lupus Erythamatosis is a systemic inflammatory autoimmune disease that affects all of my joints and has now affected my kidneys and eyes, causing infection, inflammation and a ton of other not so fun symptoms. I was also informed that I have severe cataracts in both eyes from the disease that had grown over the few years I wasn't being treated. The cataracts are growing rapidly and, without surgery, I am due to lose my sight sometime over the next nine months-ish and it's highly expensive ($4,800 PER EYE). My state-given insurance doesn't cover the level of this surgical procedure that will allow me to regain 100% of my vision. I already am having major difficulties seeing clearly and I'm horribly afraid of going blind at 36 years old. I am in the process of filing for disability, but after 2 1/2 years of battling social security with the worst possible representation and being misled to believe they were actual attorneys (which they were not), I'm restarting the disability case with a REAL attorney now. The process is still VERY lengthy, so I am working on several different angles trying to get the funds to pay for the surgery. I know I'm asking for handouts here, but I've exhausted almost all options at this point. Please, whatever you can do (every dollar counts) would be so very much appreciated.
