Cassandra Jones memorial fund raiser

Hi, my name Is Jacinta Warland, and I am raising funds for my dear friend, to help raise support for the family left behind from the tragic loss of Cassandra Jones this week. Cassandra has been beyond inspirational and so confident in her approach to her life, her business, and her medical challenges. This is a short part of her acceptance speech only last year in 2021, through AUSmumpreneurs, where she received an award for overcoming the odds. She is talking about her life, her struggles, and her unending determination.

 

"It creates daily obstacles to try to be successful. It means someone noticed that losing everything at home in a flood is going to be hard to overcome, to achieve something. To overcome that and then a year later, to lose it all again in another flood. To succeed after that was very unlikely, but it means that someone noticed. Someone notice that after my third build, of building my business again and my home, it burned down.

It was unlikely that I would achieve something again. I am receiving the overcoming the odds award knowing that I am still in the thick of these odds, but I am knowing that I will achieve something and it means that someone is noticing.

It means someone is noticing that it is unlikely that I will achieve something in my circumstances, but I still will. What I really, really want to say today is this award to me, no matter what the research says, in particular, means, each and every single one of you in this room, because every one of you are overcoming the odds every single day and I can see that, in the single meetings that I’ve had over the last few days and the people that I’ve met. You are overcoming the odds. And someone is noticing, I am noticing what you do."

 

Everything about Cassandra was generous and caring, so many people loved her style, her love of life, and her flaws, which we saw as individual style. We as a community in Townsville want to help rally around her family now, send love and support, and not flowers, but our financial help at this time. They have lost their shining star, help us make it a little less raw and painful, by offering some much-needed financial love. Whatever you can add would be appreciated.
