Cash Infusion Request

Back Story
My first encounter with cancer occurred in the year 2001. During the biopsy my oncologist was able to remove it. They went forward with Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment. I was cleared 5 yrs later.

A few months ago I thought I was dealing with constipation. I kept adjusting my diet to figure out what the problem was with no luck.

About the middle of May something changed in my rectum and things seemed to be a bit better actually. I had a two week vacation planned starting on Memorial Day so I decided to go to the Doctor when I returned home.

Things got worse while I was out of town.

Search for help
I hadn’t been to the doctor in California since moving out here in 2015 so the search was on for a Primary Physician. After finding a Primary, he referred me to a Gastroenterologist for a Colonoscopy which was scheduled for July 31st.

The Morning All Hell Breaks Loose
Monday July 16th I woke up with some severe pain in my right shoulder for no apparent reason. The on-call nurse made me promise to call 911 thinking I might be having a heart attack. Everything checked out and the ER Doctor decided to do a CT-Scan to make sure nothing was missed. After which she said I have some good news and some bad news.

The CT Scan showed that I had no heart problems but there was cancer in my pelvic area.

The Colonoscopy was moved to the July 23rd. However, My GI doctor had to abort the procedure because he couldn’t get his camera past a tumor that was almost blocking my rectum.

7/25- Oncologist Consult - was rather awkward
7/26- My Surgeon implanted a port in my chest for Chemotherapy treatment. He was also concerned that the tumor in my rectum would totally block my rectum before the Chemo could shrink the tumor. He advised that I get Colostomy in order to take the issue off the table.

The Journey Begins
8/1- I get a call from a Hospital. Apparently, I had a bed waiting, The only thing on my calendar was a lab appt. Then another call came in informing me the EMT was out front. I cracked a joke on the way, unfortunately I had to explain it. I was admitted to the hospitalI not wanting a Colostomy, But that was the only reason I was there.

The official diagnoses from my Oncologist- Neuroendocrine Carcinoma is different from the 2001 cancer and the source of much pain for the last 4 months now. He said It grows fast but it shrinks fast as well. So there is a bit of good news.

The first Chemo infusion started about 10pm that evening with 2 more following on 8/2 and 8/3. There was a bit of nausea but I was insure if it was from the Chemo or any of the other meds which kept showing up on my table.

I got to rest on 8/4 then on 8/5 my Surgeon did the Colostomy. I spent the next 3 days recuperating, learning how to deal with a new life and was discharged on 8/8. Home Health Care is helping me get settled in and I’m so thankful to be out of the hospital.

Parallel to the previous track
The same day as the initial diagnoses on July 16, I went on Short Term Disability, or so I hoped, due to not being able to work. My portion of the application was completed prior to hospital admission and then I sent it on to my Primary Physician to finish up. Unfortunately, he sat on it for 2 weeks pushing the next paycheck out as much.

So I’m not sure when or if my next paycheck will show up.

Where the rubber meets the road

As you can see in the image above, I have a rather large pile of medical bills that continue to grow. So thankful for the Insurance which covers most of it. The last line states that my part, $6,669.00 has been paid. Ha-Wouldn’t that be nice. I decided to round up to $7,000 due to more Bills being on the way.

It would be great if you could help me out with a cash infusion at your earliest convenience by contributing to this Campaign.

My Son and the rest of my family that extends beyond bloodlines would greatly appreciate it as would I.

Thanks so much for any amount of cash and/or encouragement you have to share.

Please pass a part of yourself my way and I’ll do my best to pass it along down the road, one way or another.

Feel free to share this with anyone that might be interested in helping out.
