Casey and Chelsea Smith need our help!
They are currently living in two separate homes which makes it difficult on their marriage.
They were living outside of the Metroplex with Casey working several jobs in the Mid-Cities area. Their lease was ending on their apartment, so they decided to save money to move closer to Casey’s jobs. As they were moving Casey's truck broke down and they had to use everything they saved up for a place to live along with borrow funds to get his truck working.
A friend offered for them to stay with them in Ft. Worth until they could save the money to get their own place. About 2 weeks in living with the friend an issue came up where Chelsea had to move to her mothers in Midlothian by herself. Casey's truck had another issue and it is currently unable to be fixed because of funds and they are now down to one vehicle living in 2 separate homes.
Chelsea was diagnosed in her teens with an Auto Immune Disease that causes gut issues as well as it causes her heart to go into SVT (Super Ventricular Tachycardia). With this she has to take heart medication every day. Stress causes her BPM to rise and has caused her to be in the hospital several times in the past few weeks, and all were very serious. Chelsea also suffers from severe anxiety disorder and PTSD and has 2 emotional service dogs to assist her. One is with her and the other is with Casey. She also suffers from Pseudo Tumor Cerebri where her body cannot regulate spinal fluid pressure on its own which caused her to have brain surgery in April 2016 to place a shunt to drain the fluid so that it would not back up in her brain. This past February she suffered a major seizure where she stopped breathing. They found out that this was a result of the shunt malfunctioning and had an emergency surgery 5 days later. All of this has been very difficult on the two of them. And because of her health problems Chelsea is unable to work.
Casey now works 7 days a week to continue to bring in income to get them where they can be together again in hopes that this will alleviate stress on them. Casey works very hard to support and provide for his family. He is coaching 3 hockey teams, one with us at Grapevine Colleyville as Head Coach of our Varsity team. Casey also does strength and conditioning off ice training for all athletes. (Brett trains with him and he is so good with the kids! Brett loves him!) His values and work ethic are amazing!
