Carthage Comets road to Nationals

Our Carthage Comets Peewee Cheerleading team has finally made their dreams come true. For the first time ever, our girls took 1st place in New Jersey and became Eastern Regional Champions!!! They will now advance to Nationals in Orlando Florida the first week of December!!

Here is our story!

First we would like to take this opportunity to tell you about our team. Our team consists of ten girls between the ages of 10 to 12. Three of our athletes have never cheered before, and half of our team is currently active military. This year we jumped two divisions and another skill level. Our athletes have been working hard despite these new challenges and Covid restrictions. Every day these girls inspire their coaches as they overcome adversity whether it’s age, parents, social life, multiple sports, deployments, academic achievements, tragedy, and more; these girls persevere and exceed expectations with whatever comes their way. We could not be prouder of their growth and accomplishments thus far.

Recently, we took 1st place in our local competition at Adirondack High school and yesterday we took 1st place at the Northeast Regional competition in Trenton, New Jersey as well as a partial paid bid to Globals in Atlantic city in February. We will now advance to the National competition in Orlando, Florida in December. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete against the best Pop Warner cheerleaders across the nation.

This is where we need our communities help!! We need help with travel expenses and hotel costs as the estimated costs for this trip to Nationals is approximately $1,500 per person in addition to registration fees and food.

We always say, “It takes a community to raise child.” So please help our girls get to Nationals.
