Carter LaCasse Leukemia Treatment Fundraiser

Update: Carter unfortunately had to spend Christmas at Baystate Children's Hospital but Santa was able to find him and give him a magical Christmas morning. (Thank you, Strong Little Souls).
He has since been transferred to Boston Children's Hospital, hoping that they will be able to give them some much needed answers to what exactly is going on with Carter's body. 
 
Also, due to the huge number of people already signed up for the blood drive at Zucchinis on 1/3 there will now be a second drive in Carter’s honor on Thursday, January 6th from 8:30am-3pm at DCF (73 Eagle St Pittsfield, MA).

On December 4th Carter LaCasse was diagnosed with Leukemia. Usually Leukemia "nicely" fits into 1 of two types (myeloid or lymphoma) and then for lymphoma there are two sub types (type B cell and type T cell). Carter's cells are showing all 3 types which is extremely rare. So more specifically, Carter has B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Chemotherapy began on December 10th. This little boy and his family have had a difficult few weeks already with many more to come.

His mom, Crystal Czerno, is a teacher at Pittsfield High School, a coworker of mine, and one of my best friends in the entire world. She is strong beyond belief but this journey will not be easy on her, Carter, or Carter's brother, Tyler.
