Carry a Torch for TERRY COLLERAN

Donation protected
My name is Theresa Walker, Terry's sister-in-law.  The following story is from Joan Jones, Terry's most precious Sweetie:

Since Terry couldn't speak for so long, his privacy was acknowledged until he could speak for himself.  Many of the details regarding his medical nightmare were not made public.
On January 23, 2017, he went to emergency room due to severe stomach pain.  24 hours later, an emergency surgery was performed after antobiotics failed to help.  It was realized that his colon had burst and toxins were releasing into his abdomen.  He spent  7 days in PCU when it was realized that a 2nd emergency surgery was necessary due to continued infection and sepsis.  Another foot of his intestine was removed.
Terry then required a ventilator, feeding tube and sedation.  He remained on the ventilator and was sedated for what seemed like forever, (for at least the whole month of February) in order to keep him alive and stable.  He required several procedures to address pneumonia, infection and internal bleeding.  He had a tracheotomy to assist in weaning him from the ventilator.
Terry's sedation finally began to be lifted in early March.  The doctors had indicated that sometimes being sedated that long may cause cognitive skills to be "off".  We knew this was not the case  when he "woke up", looked around and asked, "Can you change the channel?"  :-)
Terry is extremely humbled by the outpouring of prayers and love from everyone who supported him and continues to support him through his rehab.  He's regaining strength and mobility with each day, thanks to all the love, prayers and cheers.  Beaufort has proven to Terry to be a family of "brothers and sisters" who respect their lifelong friends and always step up for one another.
Needless to say,  Terry's medical bills are over whelming, even after insurance.  Unbelievably, he will require yet another surgery once he is well enough, to "repair" the site of the previous surgeries.  He'll require outpatient rehab upon his long-awaited return home.  He'll need additional medical equipment and supplies.  Please "carry a torch" for Terry by helping him take care of his needs as he works his way to the end of his long road of recovery.
                                             Thanks!       Joan

We all have followed Terry's nightmare.  His Sweetie, Joan has lived it right along side of him. His children wait for any news of his progress.  Living in the Atlanta area, it is difficult for them to be here.  My heart goes out to all of them.
If I'm not mistaken, Terry is in his 6th hospital/facility since this started.  Joan has travelled back and forth to Savannah on a daily basis, and now travels to Augusta to be with Terry.  I praise her for her undying love and devotion.  She has been wonderful (and very tired!).
This all costs money.  This campaign is to try to help them out financially, to help alleviate the stress of impending bills.  PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Give generously.  Every little bit helps.  If it sounds like I'm begging......well, I am.  Because Terry and Joan would never do that.  So I'm doing it for them.  Why?  Because they mean a lot to me.
                                      Thanks so much!             Theresa
