Carrissa's Brain Stem Tumor fund
Donation protected
My sister's name is Carrissa Skinner. Carrissa has been recently diagnosed with a malignant brain stem tumor at 3.8 cm large. Her cancer is in the progressive stage. Her surgery is mandatory and needs to happen as soon as possible. Carrissa has been denied medical treatment because she does not have medical insurance. She has been denied the healthcare market place and Medicaid. There is no cure for my sister's condition, but they can perform a biopsy to see what stage is her cancer and treat it. But how can you treat something, when you are denied treatment. She has been denied treatment at the University Medical Center of Chicago, IL. They made it clear that the surgery is a life or die surgery, but yet they do not perform the surgery because she does not have insurance. What is the justice in that? Who is to blame for this?
I do not have a recent photo of my sister because she is very ill and has lost a lot of weight due to her sickness. She is paralyzed on one side, she can barely swallow, and her speech is slurred. These funds will help pay for Carrissa's surgery that she needs to live a longer life. Please help my sister get the treatment she needs. Thank you.
