Carrier Park Field of Dreams
The new $12.5 million Carrier Field of Dreams athletic project is planned to be the state of the art, fully handicap accessible, all-inclusive outdoor multi-sports and wellness complex designed for the use and enjoyment of the residents and visitors of Central New York. The 28 acres of land donated by the Carrier Corporation to the Town of DeWitt in 2010 will include 9 championship tournament quality fields, accommodating Challenger and Little League baseball, and adult/junior softball, lacrosse, soccer, and football.
The complex also will feature a fully handicapped accessible playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball court, food and vendor buildings, a picnic pavilion, and a walking trail. The baseball fields within the park will finally give the Syracuse Challenger Baseball – Central New York’s premier baseball program for children with developmental and physical disabilities ages of 5 and up consisting of 250 children on 18 teams - a permanent handicap accessible complex to play and grow one of the largest programs in the country.
