Dear Necon Campers,

Two … no, make that THREE members of the Necon Family need your help.

First, the good news — regular Neconer Carrie Mitchell welcomed her baby daughter, Alexa, into the world on Friday, July 28th, 2017. Both mother and daughter are home and doing well.

Now, the bad news — Carrie shares a house with her mother, Jo-Ann Mitchell (also a Necon regular, who was originally brought to our con because she worked with “Papa Necon” himself, Bob Booth, back at Providence College). That house has been sold, and now three generations of the Mitchell family need to vacate their home by August 10th.

And they don’t yet have a place to go, nor do they have the money to cover moving expenses.

Beyond having just given birth, Carrie faces numerous ongoing health issues. She has M.S., which has recently worsened (they’ve discovered three new lesions on her brain, which will require injections three times a week for the rest of her life). She was diagnosed with fibromyalgia two years ago, and also tested positive for Crohn's Disease. Despite all of these issues, she has had her application for disability denied twice (although she will be trying again very soon).

Because of all of these circumstances, Carrie currently has no income and Jo-Ann has very little; as such, even should they find a place within the next ten days, they’ll be hard-pressed to cover first / last / security. So we’ve set up this page to help them. Any and all donations will help them get through this difficult time of transition and are greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance for your generosity; we know we can always count on the Necon Family to rally when one of us is in need.
