Carr Military Family Emergency Fund

This fund provides mortgage relief to a military family - Johnny and Heather Carr, and their two young daughters - whom have lost their ability to occupy their home due to severe bank erosion and flooding along the Nisqually River in rural Thurston County, Washington.
Johnny serves full time in the United States Army and has served our Country well - at times leaving his wife Heather, and two young children to deploy with his unit to Afghanistan. His commitment to serving his Country and the sacrifices he and his family have made should be appreciated by all. Johnny is a career soldier while Heather is a full time Mom.
They have permanently lost their home and land. While they are safe and have a place to stay lined up temporarily, they face a daunting future and no money to move forward. They are essentially homeless if it wasn't for the temporary generosity of friends.
During the past 10-days (as of December 18, 2015), the Carr Family has lost over 60 feet of their property to the Nisqually River. Thurston County has red-tagged the home and the family is now permanently prohibited from occupying the home they once dreamt of building a future together. The family owes in excess of $200,000 on their mortgage and Chase Mortgage is not willing to offer any relief. The family’s homeowners insurance does not cover floods or damage causes by flooding or erosion. County Emergency Managers as well as staff from other resource agencies have told the family "there is nothing more we can do to assist".
The severe bank erosion continues and the home is within 15-feet of being taken by the river. Again, the County has told them the home can never be occupied again! They have quickly evacuated their belongings and permanently abandoned the property as condemned. As you can imagine they are quite in shock as they leave their home and dreams behind.
Let's collectively give this Military Family the spirit of community and our appreciation for their service to our Country.
