Hi there! Most of you know me as Julie Wright.
Over the past few weeks, I have been dealing with numerous health issues, the most pressing of which started with a small blockage in my eye that has left me with partial vision loss. During this time, and after several doctor’s appointments, I have been told I have a rather large blockage (75%) in my left carotid artery.
I have to have surgery on Monday, November 2, 2020. Unfortunately the recovery time from the surgery is 4 weeks! During these 4 weeks, I will be out of work. Since I have no insurance and will be unable to work, the financial strain will be extremely difficult on me.
According to my surgeon, no one is at 0%, everyone is at least at 1%, however I am currently at a 27% risk of a stroke. The surgery will bring me down to 9% which is a lot better than 27%!
Besides my own health and well being, this surgery will allow me the chance to see my only Granddaughter grow into the lovely young woman I know she will become. While she lives in Kansas, she is the light of my life! As many of you know, I lost my mother in 2016 and my dad in 2019. My siblings are all in Florida and I am here in SC. My eldest daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter are in Kansas, and my younger daughter is working nights so unfortunately I will have no one to be with me during the day for the 4 weeks I am recovering.
PLEASE, PLEASE donate whatever amount you can. Even $5 will help me pay the hospital and surgeon. If you cannot donate, please share with your friends. Your prayers and good wishes are appreciated too. Believe me, I can use them!
I have no idea exactly how much the surgery will cost so I’m setting my goal at $20,000. With luck, this amount will cover the surgeon, the hospital, and any doctor’s fees that might arise. I currently owe Prisma Health Richland $16,500 and the various doctors $1,000 from the time I spent there in August when my vision in my left eye was compromised.
