Carolyn Carr's Cancer Crusade

Dear Friends,
One of my very best friends and colleagues, Carolyn (Vallano)Carr, is in need of your help. Carolyn is a loving wife of almost 15 years to her husband Dave. Mom of two beautiful boys, Eli (12) and Grant (9). Carolyn has been working in the Kiski Area School District since 2003 as a first grade teacher at East Primary Elementary School (formerly Vandergrift Elementary). She is one of the most caring, devoted and sweetest friends ever. Her heart is bigger than the whole universe and her laugh is infectious. She makes you feel like you're the funniest person in the world. She is one of the strongest people I know. I am honored to have her in my life and ALWAYS by my side.
In 2011, Carolyn was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and reconstruction surgery. Carolyn courageously battled her cancer, restored her health, and continued life as normal.
At the beginning of March, Carolyn received news from her doctors that her breast cancer had aggressively returned. Over the last month, she has undergone several tests to learn the extent of the cancer.
On April 11th, Carolyn received confirmation that the cancer has spread. Yesterday (4-12) Carolyn met with her oncologist to review the PET scan, and was stunned to discover that the Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) is now in most of her lymph nodes and major organs, as well as a large lesion in her right femur.
The oncologist has created a hormonal therapy treatment plan in combination with the drug Ibrance, in place to be started hopefully at the end of next week. He is confident that this plan will stop the growth of the MBC, and allow Carolyn to be able to live the highest quality of life. Carolyn meets Monday (4-16) with a radiologist oncologist to discuss the femur lesion, as they have told her that she will most likely have to have a steel rod put in and then possible radiation to ease her extreme pain.
I am asking for your financial support to offset the cost of medications, her inability to work, traveling and other unforeseen expenses.
