Carol's CPM Machine Fund

Donation protected
As some of you may know, in May of this year, our mom Carol fell and fractured and dislocated her right shoulder. The dislocation caused a severe brachial plexus nerve injury, which has caused her to lose feeling and movement to her dominant hand. Specialists at U of M have told her that it will take 3 years for the nerves to re-generate and heal. Although she has regained some movement in her right hand, it is nowhere near functional. She has been doing intensive physical and occupational therapy since the injury.

She was fortunate enough to get a continuous passive motion (CPM) machine to use for her hand for a couple of months. The insurance company will no longer help pay for the use of the device since they only cover it for a certain number of days. She was using the machine 3+ hours every day when she had it. It flexed and extended her fingers continuously, something she cannot do on her own, and this helped her fingers and hand from becoming more stiff. To not have a CPM machine to use would be extremely detrimental to her continued recovery. Unfortunately CPM machines are very expensive. Our mom has not been able to go back to work yet since she's not able to use her right hand.

We are trying to help raise $2,000 to help her pay for a machine. Our mom has always done everything that she can to help others and this injury has been life changing for her. We want to use this as an opportunity to give back to her by helping her get a CPM machine again. Any and every donation means more than words can express! Thank you!
