Carol needs a helping hand

Donation protected
Carol (Thompson) McDuffie suffered a major stroke on January 5, 2018, which has left her with paralysis on her right side.  She is unable to walk or use her right arm, but through intense therapy she is regaining her speech.  Carol is determined to prevail and overcome this extreme setback...hearing her laugh on the phone is the sweetest sound imaginable!

There is a long road ahead, and some of the therapies and equipment that would most benefit her recovery are not covered by insurance.  A physical therapist/trainer who can guide her through swimming exercises has been recommended as important for regaining her right side mobility.  More importantly, she lives in a two-story townhome and is unable to climb stairs to get to the bedroom. A stairlift can be installed, but this expense is not covered.

Carol has always been very health-conscious, keeping up a regular exercise routine and an active, involved lifestyle.  Members of the Jim Beckwourth Outdoors Group in Denver will remember her as a regular participant, and she's built a lovely group of friends and neighbors in her San Leandro community.

Getting Carol the help she needs as quickly as possible is the goal, and ANYthing you can contribute toward this would be gratefully appreciated.  Thank you!
