To most people, I look like an average 20-year-old girl. However, my disease is invisible. I was diagnosed with type one diabetes when I was 13 and it changed my life forever. http://www.jdrf.org/about/what-is-t1d/facts/ 

Routine daily finger pricks, shots, high and low blood sugars are frustrating. Some days are a roller coaster. One hour my blood sugar could be 50 and then 30  minutes later it escalates to 250. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0072524/ 

I do control my diabetes as much as I can. I see my endocrinologist every 3-4 months for a check up and dose adjustments. I take my blood sugar at least eight times a day and take insulin any time I eat or when my blood sugar is high. 

Every year living with type one diabetes is harder than the year before. The more my body experiences high and low blood sugars, the less I can feel the symptoms and correct my sugar. No longer being able to feel a drop or raise in my sugar can be extremely dangerous and can even cause seizures, ketoacidosis, and death.  https://beyondtype1.org/all-about-dka/ 

Luckily, there's a furry friend I need your help getting so he can help me! This diabetic alert dog will be a huge help to me and improve my overall health. This dog will tell me when my blood sugar is dropping low or raising high 20 minutes before I can feel it , and before my blood sugar meter can read the high/low.  https://www.medicalmutts.com/  

This way, I can correct my sugar before it slips too far out of range to the point where it becomes dangerous. The dog can also call 911, family members, bring me treatments when I'm low, and help me stand when I'm weak. 

The only catch is that the dog is thousands of dollars. Just to get the process started is $2,500. I need your help to get this medical alert dog that can save my life and improve living with type one diabetes!
