My name is Francesco Nick DiPaolo. I am a volunteer fire fighter from NJ and try to help the community when I can. Unfortunately, this has been a story on repeat it seems every September. Many of you supported me when I responded to Hurricane Harvey last year and in 2016 to help the flood victims of Baton Rogue. Unfortunately, our fellow Americans in the Carolinas are battling a huge storm. I am asking you to support me once again.
I am traveling with another volunteer fire fighter and member from a non-profit called American ResQ (Jay Spags, Candice Harriman ). We have swift water rescue equipment with us to assist with rescues if needed and the ability to provide relief and make donation drops across the impacted area.
We have clearance from an agency under the Department of Homeland Security based on the relationships we formed responding to Hurricane Irma, Harvey and flooding in Southern Texas earlier this summer. We have access to restricted areas and hope to help any way we can.
Just like the past, I will be using the money raised here to directly support the victims of Hurricane Florence. I will purchase visa and home depot and Walmart gift cards and distribute directly to the victims we help. I will chronicle my journey on social media using Facebook live and Instragram (sorry no snap chat) to raise awareness and document where your donations are going. It doesn't get more grass roots than this.
American ResQ is a 501.3c organization. I will be tracking the donations made and sending out letters separately from GoFundMe verifying your donation for tax purposes. In order to have full control of the funds and get immediate access to the funds (so I can purchase the gift cards), I am setting this gofundme as an individual rather then a non profit per gofundme rules.
I have a proven track record of volunteering, raising money through goFundme, and you can trust this money will go to the victims of Florence. I am paying my own way down and the money will not go towards hotels, rental cars, etc. No dollar amount is too small, and sharing the link is just as valuable as a donation.
