Aloha,

My name is Teihani Casil, along with my father Wayne, sisters Tasha, Apelila, and Temana. I ask that you read our story and please help us save our mom.

Mahalo

My mother Carol Akau Casil, the most beautiful woman I know. She is suffering from "Stomach Cancer",  she has gone on five years this year where she has overcome all obstacles through this evil disease. She has gone through a critical and very life threatening surgery, which caused her to lose 95% of her stomach. She has over come so many painful days and nights, gone through multiple doctor visits, had multiple blood work " which she hates needles", she has push through all struggle just to enjoy her life with her OHANA "family".

Her cancer is called....   "Linitis Plastica"

This rare cancer is a type of stomach adenocarcinoma. Adenocarcinoma is the most common form of stomach cancer. Because Linitis Plastica is rare there is not much information on it. It spreads from the muscles of the stomach wall and makes it thicker and more rigid. Which means that the stomach can't hold as much and doesn't stretch or move as it should when food is digested. This is called a leather bottle stomach.

Our mother was given a diagnosis just only a few weeks ago telling us that she may have gotten the cancer back. Just a week ago it was confirmed that it may be in all places of her stomach, as the previous surgery had caused her to suffer a massive turn over. This has caused my mother to live the last 5 years with just 5% of her physical stomach. She has a 3 oz stomach, that only allows her to eat so much. Now just a few days ago our family was given the news that my mother has a 70/30 chance of surviving this time. This cancer is 200x worse this time around.

My sister's and I are trying to raise money to help our father pay for any expenses and bills that he may have for our mother and their home. Our father is the supporter in the family, he takes care of our mother and all the financial things in their life. Our father is on Kauai working 7 days a week 12 hour days, while our mother is here on the Big Island of Hawaii with my two sisters and I. While the youngest of the family lives on Oahu. My father is facing a lot right now with my mom, trying to be there for his wife and at the same time still manage work and employees along with keeping up with his home. We as siblings are taking turns to help our father the best we can with our mom.

Our mother is a strong and wonderful person. She pushes and she fights because of her family. She under goes so much just to stay apart of our lives physically. I don’t know anyone with so much strength. She endures pain every day, all day most days. She has already had to go to the hospital to retrieve IV because of lack of hydration. Right now she is fragile and needs our love and positivity and prayers. She will fight the good fight.

My family and I humbly ask you to help in all that you can in anyway you can as we are now faced with yet again another trial through life.

Please help our mother Carol Akau Casil
