All, I hope you are doing well during these uncertain times both in terms of recent events, the upcoming election, and the pandemic at large. This GoFundMe is set up on behalf of my dear friend, Rebeca Roldan - a current nursing student who has been furloughed due to the pandemic.
On Saturday night (September 26th), Rebeca noticed her cat, Elliot, was peeing blood and leaving traces as he walked throughout the house. Taken aback by this unusual behavior, Rebeca took Elliot to the ER and he is now hospitalized. The vet took an ultrasound where it was determined that Elliot’s bladder is flared up with blockage preventing him from peeing and rather, bleed out in his urine. The vet had to drain his bladder and place a catheter in Elliot for the time being. Additionally, Elliot has been prescribed a diet to lower blockage and stress levels. Ultimately, Elliot was diagnosed with feline lower urinating track disorder and continues to be hospitalized.
Unfortunately, this hospitalization has led to an excessive hospital bill (an unexpected event) that under no insurance, is causing a lot of stress, anxiety, and uneasiness. Rebeca is independently attempting to pay the hospital bill, however, after being furloughed and with her busy schedule as a nursing student, this has led her to seek the help of her community.
