Carmona Family Support

If you know Melissa, you know family is everything. And if you know the Carmona family, you know how deep and joyful their love for one another is.
Both of Melissa's parents--Albeiro Carmona y Lyda Velez--fell ill with COVID19 a a week before Christmas. Their illnesses progressed fast and both were hospitalized in Pereira, Colombia. Albeiro lost his fight on December 28th. Lyda is doing better each day but still needing hospitalization. The medical costs, funeral costs, and travel costs, together with the loss of income for Melissa and her brother Jonathan in taking the time to care for her mother will be tremendous. 
Melissa has devoted her career to helping others in need, in particular immigrant and undocumented individuals, both experiences that touch her family intimately. Melissa regularly sees folks for low cost or free and sends money back home to family in Colombia and is often the first to respond to help when others are in need.
We would like to raise enough money to enable Melissa to take the time off of work that she needs and raise the funds needed to care for her Mom and family through this time.
