Get Carmen Kuan Back on her Feet

On Saturday, July 8th 2017, Carmen had a very serious bike crash while riding home from a friend's house. She was cruising downhill when an unexpected pothole launched her from her bike, causing her to hit the pavement hard. An ambulance took Carmen to the hospital with a broken left ankle, compound fractures in her right leg, a compression fracture in her L1 vertebrae, and lots of pain.


After surgery on July 10th, Carmen faces a long road back to full health. She will be confined to a wheelchair for 8-10 weeks, with another 8-10 weeks on crutches.

This GoFundMe on her behalf will help pay unexpected medical bills, support her recovery, and take some of the financial burden away as she starts graduate school in August. The timing of this crash couldn't have been worse financially, so every dollar really makes a big difference in Carmen's life.

Many in the Athens community know Carmen as a bright light with great passion, enthusiasm, and determination to make a difference in the world. Helping others is very important to Carmen, but right now she needs all of our help to get through this.
