The cold/wet autumn/winter months are here and the Botanical Gardens is not going to be a suitable venue to meet during these cold/wet months.
Therefore, we have possibly located a fantastic quiet, accessible venue, with plenty of spaces, in Carmarthen, whereby we can continue to meet monthly and have a whole load of fun, or just simply be.
However, we desperately need to raise funds to pay for the private rental of the building and also to purchase resources (games, puzzles, craft materials, etc).
I organise and run this group in my own time, but unfortunately I cannot afford to buy these items myself.
Therefore, I am hoping and praying that people's generosity will enable us to keep this monthly social group going.
We all get a lot out of these monthly meet-ups and it's really important they are able to continue. As many will be aware, a large number of autistic individuals are socially isolated and find it very hard accessing their local community. This group is different, in that, we are all autistic and share similar experiences, and "just get it" and "just get each other".
Because there are no expectations (you can stay for how ever long you want, leave when you want, talk or not talk, sit on your own, stim away, or whatever) this makes the group accessible.
I hate to ask for money in these financially difficult times, and I am only doing so because this group means so much to so many ❤️
