Carlton is the former husband of Jane Gibbs and father of Caroline (Fountainebleau H.S. 2007, LSU, and Loyola Law School 2014) and Max (Fountainebleau H.S. 2010 and Kansas City Art Institute 2014).
Carlton graduated from Prytania H.S. 1977 and the Delgado Culinary School where he was named Apprentice of the Year of his class. Carlton worked hard to provide for his family as a New Orleans chef. Carlton loved to cook for family and friends and reveled in the after-dinner praise. Carlton won several ice sculpting competitions on the New Orleans circuit.
Chefs know that most people's time to celebrate is a chef's time to work, late evenings and long hours, often during prime-time family moments and events.
Carlton passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
Caroline and Max need our prayers and support as they work through this difficult and sorrowful time. After talking to them, I also recognize they need our financial support.
I ask you to please consider giving what you can to help them provide an honorable and dignified funeral for their father.
