Hello, my name is Jimmy Ponce. I am creating this gofundme for my father, Carlos Ponce.
On May 25th, his birthday, my father was diagnosed with maxillary sinus carcinoma, an aggressive form of cancer growing in the right side of his face, after months of being treated for "allergies" by doctors who were negligent and unprofessional resulting in delayed diagnosis and treatment. The tumor spread and grew too large to operate and causing severe damage to muscles and bones in his face, lost of hearing and vision; and has left him in excruciating pain.
Before surgery is an option, doctors had to start aggressive chemotherapy and radiation in an effort to shrink it and stop the growth, and it is still unknown when he will be able to have the tumor removed. Once the tumor is removed, he will need extensive facial reconstruction because bones, muscles around his eye, sinuses, upper jaw, palate, and teeth will be removed.
My dad has insurance, however, the insurance coverage is not nearly enough to cover his treatment related costs.
My father had to leave his job because of treatment, scans, appointments and the debilitating side effects of the chemotherapy. The bill and expenses are beyond what we can afford and we are in need of help.
My dad has worked his whole life, provided for his family and helped anyone in need. He is a great dad, friend, man, former veteran and our hero. If anyone can help us, we would appreciate it. God bless and thank you for any help and prayers.
