Carley and Kelsey's IVF Journey

Hi, my name is Kelsey and my wife’s name is Carley.

If you know us, you know we are both fun loving, kind, and care about others whole heartedly. Whether you know us personally or just happened to land on this page, let us tell you our story and how we got to our IVF journey.

We met in college, through our sorority, around 2012. While the connection was always there, we didn’t want to risk the friendship we built by dating. However, after a year of holding back feelings, we gave in and decided to see where it would go. Needless to say, it was the best decision we’ve ever made.

We’ve been each others rock. We’ve helped each other through every low and have celebrated each other through every high. One of the greatest things that keeps our relationship strong is our core belief that God wants us to help as many people as we can, in his name. We know that everyone struggles but with love and kindness, we can all help each other get through the pains of this world. After getting married in 2022, we are beyond ready to share this belief and way of life with a child of our own.

After much research, doctors visits, and testing, we’ve learned that IVF is our best option for starting our own family. We also learned the high cost of this opportunity. Each attempt will cost us approximately $25,000 out-of-pocket. Insurance choses not to cover any portion of the process as their policy states “you have to be trying for one year without contraception” to have IVF coverage. Which is obviously not a possibility for us..

Sound crazy? Agree! Here’s the breakdown of the out-of-pocket cost:

- Blood Test: $500

- Ultrasounds (multiple prior to IVF cycle): $200 each

- Genetic Testing: $1,500

- Donor Vials: $4,000

- Mental Health Consultation (required): $500

- Genetic Consultation: $250

- Medication: $2,500

- IVF Procedure: $9,500

- PGT Testing: $3,500

- Embryo Transfer: $2,700
