Mission Trip for Carla and Keala
Donation protected
Keala and I would like to go to El Salvador (May 23-29) on a Mission Trip with Compassion International, and we need your support... Any amount is appreciated. $4,800 is our goal and it will cover airfare, meals, and accommodation.
Our family sponsors 3 children in El Salvador (Emedin 9 yrs old, Benjamin 10 yrs old, and Lisseth 16 yrs old) through Compassion International. Last year, I had the opportunity to go to El Salvador and learned about Compassion International and how they impact the children and the communities-in-need.
El Salvadorians only attend school for half-a-day, and in poverish areas, children are in danger of getting lured into gangs in order to make a small amount of cash. Through the support of Compassion and its sponsors (like us), Churches are able to develop programs (Christ-Centered, Church-Based, and Child-Focused) for these children around Christian training, social skills, educational skills, life and vocational skills, and healthy living. All Compassion-sponsored children have the opportunity to develop their God-given potential and be released from the poverty that has trapped their families for generations.
With other members of our church, we will focus on serving these children and their families hands-on... It's like visiting a family member who you haven't seen in years. Exchanging letters and pictures is simply not the same!
