Caritas Felices (Little Happy Faces) is the only special education school in the southern region of the Dominican Republic of its kind. Most special needs children in the Dominican Republic are neglected and lacking the opportunity for education.
With the dedication of the Caritas staff, students have graduated the program and have successfully transitioned into mainstream classrooms. Their teacher are given regular support and training by Caritas staff to assure the students' progress.
Astonishingly, a non-profit with volunteer teachers, no consistent support from sponsors, donors or grants, Caritas has maintained continual operation since 2009. The majority of the students and families served at this center are low-income. The enrollment wait list is long, their needs are great, but the love and dedication to these kids are abundant.
The Occassion -
On December 20th, 150 students with their families, along with Caritas staff, will gather together to share Christmas dinner. Caritas is asking for your support in providing a meal for these families and a present for the student.
How can I help?
$10 will cover costs for dinner for one family and provide a toy for the student.
Caritas Felices is asking 150 people to give $10. Will you be one of the 150?
