Help Feed Vulnerable Families Impacted by Covid 19

Since 2015, we have been traveling to Pakistan every year to experience the amazing beauty of the country and its people. Right now, the Pakistani people we hold so dearly to our heart need our help. We at Epic Backpacker Tours are raising funds to support Haris Ali Shah, our dear friend and founder of Caring Hands in Pakistan.

Haris and his team have been organizing food packages to be sent to low-income families living in villages near Islamabad that have been hard hit by the Corona Virus and the subsequent lockdown. 

These families typically earn 500 - 1000 rupees (3-8$ USD/2-6£ GBP) per day and are currently unable to work. Unfortunately in Pakistan, there are absolutely no measures in place to help those living on daily wages during this time. The lockdown in Pakistan has just been extended until April 30th. While the government has decided to re-open some low risk industries in order to reduce the economic toll on the working class, Haris will continue delivering food packages to those still eligible and unable to work.  



Haris first gathers data on potential recipients, verifies the data and prepares a final list for food delivery. 

Each food package is worth approximately $30.00 USD/£24.00 GBP and will feed a family of 4 for approximately 15 days. Each package contains:
Flour
Rice
Lentils
Sugar
Tea
Oil
Soap 

The packages have been delivered to the following villages:
Budho
Samoon
Ghari Afghana
Taxila Region 

So far, Haris has provided over 150 families with food packages and needs our support to continue his heroic efforts! 

We would like to raise £5,000 in 2 weeks, which will help us feed more than 200 additional families in desperate need of basic food supplies. Please donate if you can! We all need support right now; especially those in poverty-stricken communities.

We know that Haris is a credible individual who has been providing aid in Pakistan since 2011 (and he has more than doubled his efforts during the Corona Virus outbreak!)
 
Pakistan is our home away from home. We have been welcomed there for years which is why we have developed travel partnerships on the ground and will continue business as usual when we can. Although we currently cannot run our trips to Pakistan, we would like to help our partner Haris make a difference in the lives of those most affected by Corona Virus.

Our travel companies do not benefit from these funds in any way - the money is going DIRECTLY to feed vulnerable people in need.
