Caring for Lori

Donation protected

We are seeking your help for our loved one, Lori Rosen-Giglio. Since she was a baby, Lori has been a gentle soul, the kindest and sweetest person around. Always so compassionate, so loving, so considerate of others, so willing to put her best self forward and do whatever was needed to make a situation better.

Lori spent decades as a pediatric speech pathologist, treating children with many different disabilities including autism, Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy, changing young lives for good. She loved singing, playing and coaching tennis, filling a room with her laughter, and spending time with friends and family. Upon the divorce from her first husband and his untimely death, Lori became a single mom by age 40, raising her children Allie and Jonathan, and working three jobs to give them the best life possible.

At the young age of 50, Lori developed signs of early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Her amazing husband Robert came into her life at that time, and has dedicated his own life to caring for her and discovering novel ways to reverse the disease and restore her health. Their devotion to one another, and their commitment to her healing, has never abated.

Nearly 10 years later, Lori is still in the fight. Up until recently, she was living and being cared for at home. Her disease rapidly advanced to the point where she required around-the-clock care to provide for her comfort and safety, manage her medical and psychiatric issues, and support her basic daily needs. Lori recovered from an emergency stay in the hospital and rehab, and in now residing in a facility with 24/7 private duty help devoted to her care.  The cost of that care, combined with a specific nutrition plan, is exhausting the available resources. It is our hope that we can continue to provide care for Lori that is consistent and familiar, in an environment that is loving, safe, and comfortable for as long as possible.

Our family hopes and prays for your support in the form of a donation: the more money we raise, the more critical funds we will have to care for Lori for years going forward.

The impact of your dollar:
$25 pays for an aide for about two hours
$150 pays for an aide for an entire night
$1050 pays for an aide for 4 days or overnight for 1 week
$2500 pays for around the clock care for 1 entire week

Please share our story through this GoFundMe page, so we can continue to optimally care for Lori and give her a life filled with love, joy and dignity. Your generosity will make a huge difference in the life of a woman who dedicated her life to helping others. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
