Caring for Kurt

Kurt Kelly has survived Head and Neck cancer ( a cancer less than two percent of patients survive from) two times and has been battling this disease for the past 20 years. He is currently in remission. However, due to record setting rounds of chemotherapy and radiation his body is deteriorating. At this point, he has acquired an incurable staph infection that is moving through his bloodstream and landed in a large, non-healing open wound on his neck and skull, he has been to countless hospitals, medical centers and doctors since the staph infection presented itself six years ago and finally had the wound healed.

Kurt's body is falling apart and he has a year or two left, at best. After nearly 20 years of suffering, Kurt is in need of help and relief. The home that he built for his family by hand during the entirety of his sickness is starting to wear and age and in need of repair. The Kelly's have been unable to afford the repairs nor able to physically do the labor needed, Between medical bills and all of the other expenses, making repairs to their house doesn't stand a chance. Kurt's health has always taken a precedent to home repairs.

Kurt is nearing the end of his journey, due to the lack of medical options and overall wear and tears on his body. It would bring him great relief during his final years to know that some repairs are being made to the house and that his wife will have a home that will last long after he is gone.
