Hi, my name is Kitty. I’m 14 and at high school in the UK.

I’m going to St Lucia this summer with a group of children from my school as part of a Caribbean Elective schools programme.

I’ll be learning about slavery and colonisation and visiting important heritage sites, learning the Creole language, looking at marine conservation and protecting sea turtles and meeting St Lucian children to find out about their lives. We’ll also be doing beach clean-ups and learning about sustainability.

The trip is part funded by The Turing Scheme and I need to raise £400 to help with funding the trip. I’m going to do a sponsored 10km walk down the Sandstone Trail in Cheshire to fundraise and am doing bake sales at my school.
