Cargo's Christmas for the homeless

Every year on Christmas day, Cargo closes its doors to it’s regular guests  and opens them for Melbourne’s less fortunate.  For the past 5 years, Cargo has hosted a Christmas Day breakfast feeding approximately 300 of Melbourne’s homeless. The day is all about giving back to those in Melbourne living on the streets and to provide those in need with a special Christmas.

The event brings together the Cargo team, friends, family as well as a number of suppliers that make the day happen. Each year we continue to have more and more people wanting to get on board to support the cause. This year Cargo will partner with Pay a Sack Forward to help raise money for survival sacks to be given out to Melbourne’s homeless beyond Christmas. 
 
Pay a Sack Forward is a not for profit organisation that works to provide the homeless a survival sack filled with simple necessities such as food, soap and a tooth brush. These sacks are provided to our guests on Christmas day and any left over contributions are donated to the wider community living on the streets throughout the year.
