Our Career Institute has answered the call to serve the community. As social entrepreneurs since 2003 we have always stayed committed to our mission to be both accessible and affordable. In the current days of the Pandemic our definition of accessible has changed.
We recognize here in the Midlands not every family has a learning environment conducive to the needs of their children. There may not be a regulated air conditions, internet streams may be slow and students and families need options that meet their needs.
We were blessed to be in a position to extend our space and lease and now are looking to the community to support the Career and Family Center. Items are needed to support this expansive process.
9 of the 12 young people we will be serving starting Monday are in group home living. They are young parents and More than ever your support and prayers are needed.
We never knew when we acquired the space God would meet us with such a great need. Please consider volunteering as a tutor, language translator, technology support, or a donation of sanitation supplies, paper towels, vacuum, disposable gloves, sanitary pads, recreation items eg uno, board game, coloring books, color pencils, craft items, 4 folding chairs, 5 4x4 folding tables, lysol, foosball, ping pong table, small white boards, expo markers, head phones, game system, storage lockers or tv mount on wheels, storage on wheels. Any support in our efforts to meet these needs are appreciated. The center will be available to teen and families on site with their children. We are hoping to expand the entire hub to allow for courses outside of Early Care and Literacy with the efforts of the community.
Families of children with remote learning needs, with no internet, or internet dead zones and with speed of less than 5s will be granted first priority. Foster families will have opportunities to enhance their skills as learning coaches and be provided support on-site for concurrent learning opportunities.
The Early Education Career Institute formerly TIPS for Child Care Institute is one of 5 DSS Training and Resources for the State of South Carolina for Current Fostering Families since 2003. We have provided in-kind contribution to Head Start Programs Nationally and SC First Steps programs since 2017, we value our commitment to community and families.
