Community Shop & Wellbeing Programme

Donation protected
At The Feel Good Community CIC we believe our holistic approach in promoting mental wellbeing allows for us to support our community in a number of ways.

Our Community Shop and Wellbeing Programme serves to provide our Service Users with access to essential supplies and a range of physical activities
proven to improve mood and overall health.

Your support from Day one has enabled us to offer our Services from little to no cost to our community in need and we thank you so much for that. Your monetary donations have helped cover core costs, volunteer expenses and other outgoings such as equipment and training.

Please do continue to keep donating so that we can continue doing the work that we do.

We started this initiative at the beginning of April 2020 and set a goal of £500 and since then we have raised nearly £4000. With these donations we have been able to achieve the following:

We went from distributing just 5 Care Packages a week to 50.

We have now distributed over 1000 care packages which have benefitted 150 people each week.

Our volunteers team has grown from 2 volunteers to 30+ racking up over 1000 hours since the start of this initiative.

We currently support marginalised groups based in Hackney, in particular those from the Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities.

Since the start of this campaign we have been running purely on donations and volunteers efforts but there is so much more we can do with more funds.

£15 can cover a care package with essential food items such as tinned goods, cereal, pasta, rice plus more. For an additional £5 we can include some toiletries and cleaning supplies. For a further £10 we can add essential baby items such as nappies, wipes and baby food.

Can you help?

None of us could have imagined the scale of the pandemic nor the length of time it has gone on for and yet still ongoing. It has highlighted the growing need for services such as ours and unveiled the ugly truth about how big of a problem food poverty was prior to the pandemic. The most marginalised and disproportionately disadvantaged members of OUR society have been ignored and continue to suffer in silence. For this reason we are specifically targeting the BAME community  but are more than happy to assist anyone else in desperate need.

Your donations have allowed us to make weekly deliveries of our care packages to the most vulnerable in around Hackney. Despite minimal resources and an ever growing list of referrals we are proud of all the progress we have made and all the families we supported. Our beneficiaries have been left in such bad situations but show such gratitude when receiving our care packages. A common question for them was "Is this going to continue or is it just a one off?" Your donations will help cover cost for supplies and any additional operational costs required to effectively to support our community that so desperately needs our help.

We would love to continue our work throughout the pandemic and beyond and I humbly ask for you to continue donating and please SHARE SHARE SHARE.

Please help us end poverty one family at a time.

For our back story please see below:

Hi All,

My name is Rochelle and I am the Founder of The Feel Good Community which aims to change the narrative surrounding mental health. It is imperative during this pandemic that we come together as a community and support those that need it most.

As a mother of 3 young children and all being high risk as 2 have asthma and my youngest only being 3 months old I have had to self - isolate my family earlier than some and whenever possible attend the local supermarket for supplies only to find the shop shelves were wiped clean. I cannot imagine how it has been for other vulnerable groups including the elderly that aren't able to get to the shops to buy what was needed and I know some may not have had enough funds to buy the bare essentials as it wasn't something any of us were able to prepare for.

I would like to do my part by volunteering myself to present care packages to these vulnerable groups but cannot do it without financial assistance, therefore I humbly ask for donations to cover costs of supplies so that I am able to assist the community the best way I know how. Each package would include items such as toiletries, canned food and cupboard items. Please donate as much as you can as urgently as possible as so many are in dire need of these essential items.

We will be specifically targeting the BAME community but more than happy to help anyone else in need. Thank you in advance
