The Melbourne Marathon Story…..Last year I was able to complete my second marathon. I was able to achieve that milestone yet again by the inspiration and love that I have for my son, Kruz. On October 15th, I will be competing in the Marathon again, third time lucky, in the hope of being able to raise more funds for Kruz, Kruz is in need of several pieces of equipment such as: size 3 gait trainer, shower toilet system and a new wheelchair, in total all exceeding $30k worth.
Kruz has just turned 6 years old and has Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy which restricts his movement and freedom.Kruz is a truly a champion and an inspiration. His smile can light up a room and laugh is contagious, he is an amazing little brother to Khloe and Jayda. His sisters would dearly love to have Kruz running around with them and getting to enjoy all the kid things that he deserves to be able to do. Kruz needs assistance in everyday tasks such as; feeding, dressing, sitting and playing. After receiving a lot of intensive therapy and Routine Botox to Kruz's legs he enjoys the independence of “walking” in his gait trainer. Plus the freedom of swimming in his hydro pool with his neck ring. Running a marathon is a huge commitment - endless hours of training are required and only 1% of the population of Earth actually complete a 42.2km run – it is for the elite. I am not an elite athlete, I am just a dad wanting to help his son out in the best way possible. I have been gifted an able body and I want to use it to help Kruz. Kruz does not get a choice, each day he has to work hard, which is why I want to push myself hard and to run with all my strength and love...for him!I will run with the hope that I reach out to the generosity in your hearts and even if you only able to donate a few dollars, it all goes towards being able to get Kruz enjoy the life that most of us are so privileged to enjoy every day.
