Care for Crystyn
Donation protected
Crystyn was born with arthrogyosis. She's had a ventilator, trache, feeding tube, and various braces since birth. Crystyn only had nerve endings that extend 1/2 inch from her spine. She was completely paralyzed at birth. After 5 months in the Neonatal intensive care unit, I was told to let her 'go' because it wasn't fair to let her live in that condition. They sent us home and told me to make her comfortable. I did. Crystyn does forensics, theatre, and is a cheer manager. She a junior enrolled on advanced classes.
Crystyn had scoliosis surgery June 27, 2017. She was in the intensive care unit for 8 days. When she went for a follow up appointment on July 17 th, she was sent back to the intensive care unit. She's had 2 more surgeries due to her incision becoming infected and opening. Due her slow recovery, Crystyns will drive her wheelchair with a straw. She'll use her ventilator to assist with her breathing to operate her wheelchair. Crystyn will require therapy to regain her strength. She'll also requires electric lift to do all transfers. Due to surgery, she will not be involved in activities during or after school until she regains her strength. As a single parent, I'm asking for help to purchase equipment, therapy, and medical bills.
