Colten Romines is a 7th grader who is a lifetime heart patient. He is known as a Superhero in his hometown. He has had 4 surgeries already, and has come through each like a champ! He always has a positive attitude and outlook on life.

Beginning on March 17, 2018, Colten was diagnosed with strep throat. After a few days of not getting better, he went back to the doctor. Things were not looking as they should. He was transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with multiple internal issues. His liver enzymes are elevated, his spleen and liver are enlarged, he has been retaining fluid that required a chest tube and blood transfusion.  His lymphocytes are extremely low, he has an immunodeficiency disorder and his heart echo continues to show decreased heart function as well. After three weeks they have not been able to decipher what is wrong with his body, while he continues to get worse each day.  

As of today, he is needing a transfer to Vanderbilt, in Nashville, TN, where his cardiac team is located. his heart hospital. He is in need of a liver biopsy and heart catheterization. Unfortunately he is not stable enough to be airlifted. We need prayers that he stabilizes enough for that transfer. 

His parents have been by his by his side this entire time. Matt, Colten’s dad is traveling 2 1/2 hours back and forth, to attempt to give some sort of a normal schedule to Colten’s little sister Lillian. His mom has not left him at all. Carrie is a 6th grade literacy teacher, and she is missing many days at work and is facing this time off without pay. The medical bills continue to mount. We are asking for help to ease this burden on their family. They are an amazing family and give so much to our community. If you know them, they have blessed you in some way! My prayer is that we can give back to them!
